GERMAN EDUCATION FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

This program is run by Sophie Scholl Schule and is open primarily to Portland Kinderschule children. The kids will transition to another 2 hours of German immersion after their regular preschool day and experience a balance of play and “serious” learning. Children work with stories, short poems, songs and language games. Teachers introduce and expand vocabulary and understanding of how language works by oral modeling, interactive play, and eventually, beginner writing. Even though there is a focus on kindergarten readiness, all age groups are welcome.

Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00-3:00 pm

Minimum participation: 4 children per afternoon

Cost: approx. $ 20 per afternoon

Start dates in: September, December and March; Drop-in if space is available
